How a high-speed legacy migration unlocked a scalable new product for a behavioral assessment platform
The Challenge
Migrating a complex legacy system (PAA/DNN) to Ruby on Rails at speed, without compromising data integrity or disrupting existing users.
Integrating two distinct technologies — Ruby on Rails and Next.js — within a single mono repo while maintaining coherence and managing dependencies across the stack.
Building the AGT (Agility Growth Tracker) as a new product within the same framework, under tight delivery timelines and with high expectations for feature completeness.
Keeping multiple developers aligned across different parts of the codebase, where speed and coordination had to move together without creating integration gaps.

The Solution
The legacy PAA/DNN system was migrated to Ruby on Rails, preserving data integrity while modernizing the architecture at the speed the project demanded.
Next.js was chosen for the AGT dashboard for its performance, flexibility, and built-in support for the data-heavy, real-time experience Tilt365's users needed.
A mono repo structure was implemented to house both the Rails backend and the Next.js frontend, keeping the codebase coherent and dependencies manageable across the team.
Vercel was configured as the hosting provider with optimized deployment pipelines for Next.js, enabling fast iteration and reliable releases from the start.
