Bringing software to market is like going on a trip. You can always plan things out, but there are bound to be unforeseen circumstances that you will have to deal with.
Creating any software can be a months-long job, where contributors do their best to make the release a success. However, failures are inevitable – or is that what you thought?
Thanks to the TDD methodology, you can reduce the error rate before promoting software. It is a paradigm shift in the way of working that you need to know if you want to avoid those failed launches that can damage the image of an organization.

What is TDD and what is it for?

TDD stands for Test-Driven Development. This is a development model that is useful for all software organizations. Thus, the TDD methodology consists of a change in the work methodology. First, the tests are written, and then the source code that passes the test successfully is written.
Only then is the written code refactored, as this is the last stage of the process. Since the tests are performed initially, the number of errors is minimized. The result? A much more reliable, secure, and advanced system.
TDD is based on different principles. The most common ones are:

Single Responsibility Principle (SRP). Modules will only have a single responsibility. In this way, the code becomes much simpler.

Open/Closed Principle (OCP). When entities are dependent on each other, changes in one part could cascade to the others.

Interface Segregation Principle (ISP). It states that interfaces should not be forced to depend on other interfaces that they do not need to use.

Dependency Inversion Principle (DIP). A module A must not depend on module B but an abstraction of B.

What are the stages of TDD?

Next, we will tell you what the main stages of the TDD process in an organization are. This process will teach you to understand the best practices for the methodology.

Develop a test

First, you need to create a validation test. You need to know what the requirements and conditionals are. With this phase, you can avoid setting complex objectives that cannot be met. In the same way, you will also be able to create value from technology.

Write the code

This is the moment which, effectively, the service is generated. The development process has to focus on validating the test acceptance cases. If there is no code, the tests will be negative.

Validate the evidence

You’ve created the code. Now, you need to validate the tests you had previously set up. This step is the most important, as it will determine if it can meet the requirements.
This way, you avoid some problems related to lack of planning and the mistakes of failed launches.

Refactoring

Although the code is written, it does not mean that it is optimized. Therefore, you have to work it optimally through refactoring.
It is important to consider scalability. As the software grows, there will be new needs. This part of the process will frequently occur every few cycles. This moment is what will ensure that the process is secure over time.

The importance of applying TDD correctly

In any case, TDD allows for organized, agile, and secure software development. However, it can be complex to carry out since it will involve more work time.
However, it is essential to incorporate these TDD practices, but always with a context. Remember: this is simply a methodology, so you must know the context and purpose of the code you will develop. If there is no good business model, you can apply TDD, but the launch will not be successful.
Of course, the goal is for you to create the code. But, that’s not all: you should also implement the necessary tests to ensure good performance. In this way, you will start to observe the patterns of code implementation. The important thing is that every process is always designed to meet the customer’s needs.

Benefits of TDD

If you do it right, you’ll notice:

Correct functioning of the code. You will reduce the chances of failures in the first weeks of launch. You will be able to test all the variables constantly. It may take more time, but the result will be very satisfactory.

Improve code design. By thinking about everything in structures, you will start from the smallest to the most advanced. That is, the process is divided into distinct stages. Therefore, before possible scalability, you will not have problems adapting.

Reduce time and resources. It may sound paradoxical since, by doing so many tests, you increase the development time. However, it is also true that you save time and resources. By testing, you don’t write code that you’re not going to use. In a way, you’re also saving time.

Undoubtedly, you already know that TDD can be an incredible option for all those organizations that seek successful software development.

Discover Why TDD Can Change the Productivity of an Organization

Soccer fans discuss whether they prefer Pelé or Maradona. TV series fans argue whether Game of Thrones or Breaking Bad is better. And, if you’re a rock lover, you’ve probably read hundreds of disputes between The Rolling Stones and The Beatles.

The same thing happens in the programming world with Angular and React. Both are perfect for any front-end web development job, even though they don’t serve the same function. Both Angular and React are meant for the same general purpose, but each will have its particular applications.

If you want to understand these concepts better, it’s essential to dig deep into the features of Angular and React.

The key features of Angular

Angular is an open-source framework that was developed by Google. Its main objective is to create SPA (single-page application) web applications. In the same way, it seeks to create a comfortable, simple work tool. Data loading is handled dynamically, and the development environment is very user-friendly.

Among its main features, we can mention:

Dynamism. Angular allows extending HTML to define new functions, which is helpful for creating dynamic templates. Any update in the model will be immediately reflected in the view without the need for event control. In this way, Angular appears as a dynamic working environment.

Reusable code. This concept is essential to reducing the workload of many developers. Angular will allow you to generate custom HTML tags. Because of that, you can reuse code. For example, you’ll be able to put template HTML blocks back into the same file without any problems.

Multiple options. Remember: Angular is an open-source framework. All your work can benefit from the development of other professionals. Therefore, you will be able to find answers to queries and doubts, but that’s not all. You will also have many standard features that other libraries would never include.

The main features of React

React was born to be an open-source JavaScript library. Developed by Facebook, the initial operation was limited, as it focused on managing the user interface. However, over the years, it has released numerous updates. Thus, it became a much more complete and competent framework.

For example, some of its main features are:

Versatility. This library allows you to work from the front end. However, also server-side, as with Next.js or Gatsby.js. In React Native, there is the possibility of focusing on mobile development. So React is incredibly versatile and will surely add more options in the future.

React. As the name implies, React allows programming on asynchronous data flow. Therefore, finite or infinite data can propagate and generate changes in the application. Consequently, they can react to data by executing a series of defined events.

Component-based. React allows you to create components, which generate incredible scalability for all development projects. Furthermore, React has a large number of resources. Because of that, this library will enable you to create simple components but also advanced structures. The more knowledge you have, the better projects you can make.

The most relevant differences between Angular and React

You can already guess that Angular and React can be used for similar things, but they have very marked differences in how they work.

Below, we’ll show you the main ones:

Library vs. Framework. React is a JavaScript library, but Angular is a framework. Thus, Angular allows a complete solution for web development projects. In contrast, to work with React, it’s expected that you have to bundle it with other libraries.

JavaScript vs. Typescript. React uses JavaScript because it is a library for creating user interfaces in that programming language. Angular uses TypeScript, which is a statically typed, more structured compiled language. Developers use Typescript to detect errors quickly.

Unidirectional vs. bidirectional. By this, we mean the data flow. React has a unidirectional data flow. That is, you can only change UI elements after changing the model state. In Angular, the flow is bidirectional. This system states that if the user interface is changed, the model state will automatically update.

Angular vs. React: which one to choose for your next project

A competent front-end developer should know both tools. However, you won’t always use both, as it depends on the characteristics of each project.

Both Angular and React offer a good user experience and outstanding performance. In the same way, both enable good mobile development and offer a lot of resources and updates, as they have very active communities.

However, Angular may be more suitable for extensive projects. It is a framework, so there will be many options to use. On the other hand, React appears as a very user-friendly library, perfect for small teams and even individual developers.

Now that you know the main differences between Angular and React, you are ready to face your next development projects, knowing that you can make a well-informed decision on which will be the best for each case.

Angular and React: Main features and differences

Have you ever thought about how much time you waste by not being efficient with your work? Maybe you’re now reflecting on those prolonged unproductive times.
There are small moments of low productivity that may seem unimportant. If you analyze them individually, they might not seem relevant. However, everything changes when you add up those lost minutes throughout the day.
The problem is that you don’t know how to improve the organization of your work. The Lean Manufacturing system can help you!

What are the keys to the Lean Manufacturing philosophy?

The Lean Manufacturing work methodology is 100% applicable to software development. You could even say that it is an attitude towards life (philosophy). In other words, you must think of productivity differently. Here are some of the keys to work more efficiently:

Eliminate activities that are not valuable. The fundamental principle is effectiveness. You know how to distinguish what wastes your time. Sometimes, there are small, necessary moments of leisure that help relax the mind. However, others only limit productivity.

Seek continuous improvement. Sometimes this will mean investing time and money. If you don’t, you risk stagnating. The Lean philosophy seeks to achieve a perfect product. Therefore, you must improve the end-user experience.

Prioritize, but be flexible. You can achieve this with pull processes. This concept means working on demand, so you don’t produce anything until you need it. Focus on what is relevant, don’t prioritize the accessory. However, sometimes you should consider potential growth (scalability). This POV will help you cope with unexpected demands. It’s one of the main causes of disorganization at work, so be careful.

Try to do things right the first time. Every development will improve over time. In any case, the first product you deliver should be the best version you can deliver. It’s not enough just to deliver a product. You have to make it as good as possible. Improvements and corrections will come later, but you will be working on something valuable.

Lean methodologies for your day-to-day life

Are you interested in this productivity philosophy? If so, here are some useful Lean tools to increase the flow of the software development process:

Kaizen. It is a philosophy that seeks to achieve excellence. It is a term that comes from Japan and can be translated as “continuous improvement.” It consists of implementing a long-term strategy that improves productivity across any company, including software companies. From the Kaizen vision, you must achieve excellence. You can implement continuous corrections so that your product is always the best possible.

5S system. Also of Japanese origin, it consists of dividing your work into five stages. The S’s come from each stage: Seiri (classification), Seiton (Order), Seiso (Cleaning), Seiketsu (Standardization), and Shitsuke (Discipline). The methodology is simple: first, decide on priorities. Then, order the project to meet the deadlines. Finally, the product must be reviewed, even after launching.

Value Stream Mapping (VSM). This Lean tool is essential. It’s based on creating an illustrative flowchart to show the steps required to deliver a product. This way, you will be able to eliminate those elements that do not add value. This decision will increase development productivity.

The importance of combining the Scrum method with the Lean Manufacturing Philosophy

You know all about Lean philosophy. Now, you can also combine your work style with the Scrum method. Scrum is a framework for optimizing collaborative work processes when team members need to deliver the best possible results in development.
To fully unlock the potential of this combination, it’s essential to start with a clear understanding of the product and user needs. That’s where Product Discovery Solutions for Software Development<use href="/cdn/assets/sprites-core-0da2cb3c.svg#304883" fill="currentColor"></use> come into play, helping teams validate ideas early, prioritize effectively, and ensure that every iteration delivers real value.
Scrum is designed for complex projects. For example, when you have to create an application in a short time. Requirements can change throughout development, so ineffective team organization can be fatal.
The Scrum work cycle is simple. The work of this methodology is carried out in short, fixed-duration cycles. In each cycle, which usually lasts about two weeks, your team should have a version of the product. There will be different stages of development so that the customer can see it on demand. Thus, we will always work to improve each previous step.
Every software developer has worked with the Scrum methodology at one time or another. However, not everyone applies the Lean philosophy to improve productivity. Scrum provides us with a working circuit divided into stages. Lean allows each of them to be as efficient as possible.
If you want to explore this relationship further, understanding how Lean principles influence Scrum<use href="/cdn/assets/sprites-core-0da2cb3c.svg#304883" fill="currentColor"></use> can provide deeper insight into how the two frameworks complement each other and drive better outcomes for modern software development teams.
You should consider personal productivity and teamwork simultaneously. All development projects should optimize their cycles with Scrum. Also, if everyone in the group has a Lean philosophy, there will be an excellent end product. So, what are you waiting for to incorporate both processes into your routine?

Time management in software development

Remember: these are not unbreakable rules. Sometimes, a little unproductivity can be beneficial for software development. However, it should never become a problem that affects the entire job.
Now that we know about the Lean philosophy and have learned some tools that complement the Scrum method, we invite you to continue reading our blog for more programming tips.

Lean Manufacturing Tools: How to apply them to the Scrum methodology

Do you want to know everything about being a good Product Manager? Keep reading!

From an early age, we want to be recognized. When you ask a child what their greatest desire in life is, they probably aspire to have the most visible position in their area of interest. For example, many kids want to be CEOs of their favorite video game companies, such as Activision Blizzard, Capcom, or Nintendo. After all, they do all the work. Right?
Generally, CEOs are the recognized people behind each launch. They give interviews and explain all the details of the new projects. Maybe that’s why kids want to become CEOs. However, some figures are invisible to consumers, but they are the ones who make sure that everything works as it should. One of them is the Product Manager, the key to the success of all companies, especially software development companies.
The Product Manager role is indispensable in the market because it challenges the false belief that if you have a good idea, success is assured. This is a mistake!
In the past, there have been several “revolutionary” proposals that promised to be a boom in the market. However, they had development problems due to planning failures. A good PM could have avoided these problems. So let’s dig a little deeper into the role of a Product Manager.

What is the role of a Product Manager?

A Product Manager is a triple mediator. To successfully balance these dimensions, Product Managers need a structured way to validate ideas and align stakeholders from the start. This is where Product Discovery Solutions for Software Development become essential, helping teams define priorities, reduce uncertainty, and build products that truly meet user and business needs. When a company launches a product, it must try to strike a balance between the following three variables:

Product development. When developing software, certain limitations must be taken into account. We could define this as feasibility, a concept that helps us determine which objectives we can achieve. In general, the main drawbacks may be time constraints, lack of knowledge, limited budget, and inability to reach agreements. It’s essential to consider all these sub-variables to avoid complications.

Consumer needs. Of course, the development of a product must always satisfy consumer demands. Therefore, a professional must be constantly aware of what their target audience is looking for. The PM will even have to make a market analysis of competing companies to ensure the company is offering more value.

The reality of the company. Sometimes developers’ or creatives’ ideas are excellent, but they are not the same as those of management. Ultimately, they will decide the product’s path. A good Product Manager must know how to explain the virtues of making a particular decision.

An example to understand PM mediation

Suppose a software company plans to launch a dating application, where the company’s managers allocate development time and budget for certain functions. However, in the middle of the development, an unexpected event occurs.
The marketing team has realized that a competitor is already doing the same thing, so the product cannot be an imitation of what already exists. What they need to do is to substantially modify the work program to incorporate a feature that adds value.
For example, the creative department could suggest that the dating application should incorporate interest filters. This innovation will seek to improve the software’s final value to satisfy consumers’ needs. To do this, employees will have to learn how to implement it.
This development will take time, forcing them to delay the launch or increase the workload. Also, they are going to need a larger budget, which means they now have to get support from the company’s managers.
The Product Manager will be responsible for harmonizing these variables to deliver a product that satisfies all parties.

What key traits should a good Product Manager have?

Here are some traits and skills that every good Product Manager needs:

Technical knowledge. You should domain tech language to be able to talk on equal terms with programmers. For example, you should know different programming languages and be aware of software novelties. This way, you will be able to propose improvements to each project and understand the barriers and issues the team could face, at least in an abstract way.

Market skills. This ability means that a good Product Manager must interpret the market to make efficient decisions. This strategic factor can make the difference between successful and unsuccessful software development.

Creativity and listening. Sometimes, the Product Manager will have to convince people to choose the path. In other cases, the PM will have to listen to various proposals from different people involved. The PM must also offer innovative and creative ideas that differentiate the software from the competition. If you get it right, the work will be harmonious. Thus, there will be no creative differences among the team that could ultimately reduce the quality of the final product.

How can you avoid becoming a bad Product Manager?

If you don’t want to be a lousy Product Manager, follow these tips:

Organize each of the activities. In Agile environments, this organization often goes hand in hand with strong collaboration across roles. Understanding the role of a Scrum Master in Agile team <use href="/cdn/assets/sprites-core-0da2cb3c.svg#304883" fill="currentColor"></use> can help Product Managers better coordinate with delivery teams, remove blockers, and ensure that execution stays aligned with product goals.

Recognize the feasibility of ideas. Sometimes there are incredible ideas, but they cannot materialize. A PM should never completely discard a proposal but should know what the priorities are and which aspects can be secondary.

Find the best solution to launch the product. A PM should never be egocentric as it is not about being right. Sometimes, you have to admit that other proposals are better because the main goal is to get the best possible product launch. It’s important to find a way for everyone to be happy and to contribute to the final product. Likewise, you also have to choose what is most functional for the proposed objectives.

Product Manager: the key to obtaining a good product development

Product Managers may have an invisible role. However, they are essential for the successful development of all software in the market. Perhaps in the future, children will dream of becoming PMs in a software company.
You’ve already learned a lot about what a good PM should have. What else do you think Project Managers should consider? We want to hear you out!

What it Takes to Be a Good Product Manager: The Keys You Need to Know

Decades ago, only one type of cloud existed: the ones that we see every day in the sky. They are composed of many water droplets, although we cannot touch them, except when it rains. Well, we now know it is not the only type of cloud.

There is another kind of cloud that has become indispensable in our lives. These clouds have no water, but they can store millions of files that you can access in the blink of an eye. It’s Cloud Computing.

Cloud Computing: a renewing virtual concept

Have you ever thought about today’s working methods? For example, if you have worked in an office for the last few years, you know that paper documents are no longer necessary. Everything is digitized. However, that’s not all: everything is also connected.

Until a few years ago, the only way to share files between users was through dubious downloads (without previews), disks, or USB drives. You know how uncomfortable it was to work like that. How many people have lost a disk with valuable information and put a company’s projects at risk?

Well, none of this needs to happen today. Thanks to cloud computing, millions of documents can be opened on thousands of devices simultaneously, without the need for disks, USBs, or additional downloads. Everything is “in the cloud,” just waiting for you to view or download it. This same cloud-first approach powers modern mobile experiences, allowing businesses to build secure, scalable, and always-connected applications. Through our Custom Mobile App Development Services, we help organizations create cloud-enabled mobile apps that synchronize data in real time, support distributed teams, and deliver seamless user experiences across devices.

This technology makes it possible to decouple hardware from software. Users can then access them digitally without physical contact with the files, since they are not stored on the computer but are stored remotely in a network (cloud).

Types of Cloud Computing

Not all Cloud Computing services are the same. There are three different types:

Public cloud service. There is a cloud provider that generates resources for all individuals and organizations that request it. That is, you can access a service to host files remotely for free. The most common one is Google Drive, but there is also Google Photos and iCloud.

Private cloud service. Here, the cloud provider implements and configures the network specifically for an entity. This typically occurs in large companies that operate in the cloud and need customized systems due to the volume of data they handle.

Hybrid cloud service. It’s a combination of public and private systems. Some of the services and information may be offered publicly, while other information is provided privately. Some countries in the world use mixed cloud servers. In this way, they offer people access to different (public) data. However, there are records that they cannot view or modify (private).

Key Benefits of Cloud Computing

Here are the main benefits of Cloud Computing:

Remote connection and mobility. This means that the storage will be external. That is, you won’t waste space on your hard drive. At the same time, you’ll be able to access all those files online, no matter the device or where you are. For example, this is essential for teams that work remotely and need to share files constantly.

Advanced security. Many companies use the cloud to back up data. For example, if they lose information from a computer, they know that they will have a backup available at any time. Moreover, the Cloud infrastructure is secure enough to ensure the privacy of your data.

On-demand service. Cloud Computing is self-service. This means it is available to all users who can control file uploading and management. In other words, all users must manage digital resources unless they delegate the task to someone else.

Scalability. This situation means that it is a tailor-made service based on the needs of each user or company. In other words, Cloud Computing can grow in infrastructure according to resources and needs. For example, this situation can be seen in startups that succeed and grow into large companies. When you have a bigger budget, your needs change. A cloud service will enable a good job, both in the initial stage and as the company grows.

Cost savings. Using cloud infrastructure saves money. For example, you won’t have to make costly investments in equipment to store large volumes of information. With a reliable cloud provider, you will have the essential data to keep your business running. In addition, you will avoid data loss caused by hardware failures.

Cloud Computing Applications

Here are some of the most popular cloud computing applications:

Backup copies. It means being able to host different files in the cloud so they are available in case of any eventuality. A popular example is Dropbox, which you can use to back up data on your computer.

Business management. This application can be seen with different work boards, where you can manage some projects in a 100% virtual way. One of the most famous examples is Trello, which is perfect for uploading files, dividing tasks, and evaluating the status of each activity.

Streaming services. Many of the big companies that offer streaming content have also migrated to the cloud. This is the case with Spotify or Netflix, which migrated to different servers to host all their content (Google Cloud Services and Amazon Web Services, respectively). As a result, users can play and even download music and videos instantly.

The Importance of Cloud Computing in Businesses

All companies should opt for this technology to improve their services. We have already seen how it has improved our work routine. So why not take this service to the next level?

First of all, it will be a real investment, as it will improve security, communication, and access to all relevant files within a company. Also, it will enhance the productivity of a company, whether large or small. Work processes will be much more agile if you keep everything connected through the network.

Forget about lost paperwork, connection problems, or deleted files. Everything will be there, ready for your team to see. This way, everyone will be better connected and have the information available at all times.

This is why Cloud Computing is considered the fourth industrial revolution, as it will enable many companies to improve their performance.

Now that you know all about Cloud Computing, we invite you to continue reading the content of our blog. You will learn a lot about other aspects of software development. We are waiting for you!

Cloud Computing: an Innovative and Necessary Technology

What are the advantages of AI?

Artificial intelligence is revolutionizing many areas of life, and software development is one of the industries experiencing the greatest transformation. The latest AI techniques enable systems to learn from data, recognize patterns, and even support autonomous decision-making during development. Organizations looking to leverage these capabilities often rely on AI Software Development Services to build intelligent applications that improve efficiency, automate processes, and deliver more personalized user experiences.

Now, developers can make intelligent decisions thanks to some machine learning mechanisms. They are a part of artificial intelligence that allows us to recognize patterns and make predictions automatically. When you use Spotify, YouTube, or Netflix and they offer you content recommendations, that’s where machine learning comes in.

This system constantly learns from itself and allows you to offer much more sophisticated and customized software.

Artificial intelligence: a necessary resource for software development

As with the example above, the developer’s role could be radically altered by the introduction of artificial intelligence. Mainly because he would not need to develop this algorithm on his own, but his work would be based on “teaching” the machine to interpret data. At the same time, he would supervise that the AI interprets this information correctly and that the software fulfills its objective.

For instance, if developers create a program to group a company’s emails, they can tell the AI which categories each message belongs to, based on different variables. For example, programmers load a significant number of sample emails into the system for the “urgent” category. There, the AI will read all the variables that are repeated in each message, such as words. When it detects them, it will know which category they may correspond to.

Software development would be improved in cases like the previous one. One positive consequence is that people have less time to write the code needed to make it work. We can use the free time to add a different value while AI reduces the error rate and solves the main problem. Thanks to artificial intelligence, the entire work process is optimized.

If we want to simplify and optimize our workload in this way, it’s necessary to understand the main phases of software development and how artificial intelligence can help with each.

Phases of software development where Artificial Intelligence can be applied

Software development can leverage Artificial Intelligence at various stages of the process. The most important ones are:

Requirements capture. This is a stage where the development team is usually constantly involved. Here, developers identify the application’s functional and non-functional requirements. It is an analytical task. The team may interview people involved in the project or study existing documentation. Artificial intelligence enables improved data management and the automation of complex processes.

Software design. When designing software, you have to think about several aspects. The released product must be functional but also adapted to users’ requirements. Thanks to artificial intelligence, developers can better meet customers’ needs. This information enhances the user experience and improves the software’s usability.

Code generation. Perhaps the area that benefits developers most. Thanks to Artificial Intelligence, programmers can generate code much more efficiently. For example, they will simplify tasks and reduce work time since AI automatically detects errors in lines of code or makes suggestions based on what you wrote.

Testing and updates. The testing phase is indispensable before the product launch. Artificial Intelligence allows you to detect potential flaws in the system, especially during user interaction. Once the product is released, you will need to generate updates and security patches to improve its usability. You will even have to make adjustments to adapt to the dynamic needs of customers. Artificial Intelligence will also help you there by detecting user behavior and potential bugs or code improvements.

Benefits of AI in the Software Development Cycle

Similarly, Artificial Intelligence offers various benefits in software development. Some of them are:

Make accurate estimates. When developing software, it is important to understand a large amount of data, especially if you have to make business projections. If the budget is tight, you have to know which section you have to work on more. Artificial Intelligence will easily interpret and combine all available variables and possible outcomes. In this way, it may be able to estimate more accurately than a human.

Detect errors in time. It is common for software to present unexpected problems. Sometimes this causes crises in development teams, especially when there is little time left before the release. In this sense, an AI will be able to locate faults simply and propose possible code solutions.

Automate decisions. This section is controversial, as many programmers do not want to rely 100% on an algorithm. However, an AI can decide on its own in specific contexts. For example, if you analyze behavior patterns in an application, you can choose which improvement to implement first. However, the final decision should always be made by the development team.

Why does it make sense to learn about AI in software development?

Undoubtedly, programmers could greatly benefit from incorporating AI into their work routines. Cost reduction, automatic code generation, early bug detection, software delivery time predictions, or security testing are some reasons you should learn about the work of AI.

However, it is also important from a technological-innovation perspective. If the Internet was the great phenomenon of the last decade, artificial intelligence is likely to be the paradigm of the current decade.

Although there is still much room for improvement, the most in-demand programmers will likely be those who know how to work in conjunction with artificial intelligence.
