<p class="wp-block-paragraph">This web app serves as a tool to implement 4 surveys, each with multiple paths. You can access as a user, coach, or practitioner.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Dig a bit more into its web. To sum up, it provides a profile based on the survey you take and also offers a thorough report that helps you boost your professional persona.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">We already launched the AGT, and the team is currently working on the TTP to further improve its dashboard and, hence, its UX/UI.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The AGT stands for Agility Growth Tracker. It&#8217;s a survey-like web app that flows, and section results provide a report for the user depending on the type of profile you get.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Plus, as an admin, you can access to see each user&#8217;s result. Those dashboards and graphs let you dig deep into the analytics for different profiles, such as: The Change Catalyst, The Quiet Genius, The Cross-Pollinator, and The Master Mind.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The app was built with Next.js and migrated to Vercel.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The main goal is to obtain information about the customer experience through personalized questions and to provide alerts to administrators when a user reaches a certain margin.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The solution includes a tablet app and a responsive web, both consuming a REST API built with Rails.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Synchronous layout and effects </h3>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Firstly, we need to acknowledge that adjusting the layout might hinder user experience and interactions when switching between mobile and web.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Moreover, state updates within the&nbsp;<code><a href="https://reactnative.dev/docs/view#onlayout" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><code>onLayout</code></a></code>&nbsp;callback may apply, users may see intermediate states or visual jumps between rendering the initial layout and responding to layout measurements.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><span style="box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">So, <strong>with New Architecture</strong>, we can avoid this issue entirely, making no intermediate state visible to users.</span></p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">In the current architecture, we use&nbsp;<code>onLayout</code>&nbsp;to get the measurements of the view and then update the positioning of the tooltip based on where the view is.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Support for Concurrent Renderer and Features</h3>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">You can now use features like Suspense for data-fetching, Transitions, and other new React APIs in your React Native code. </p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The concurrent renderer introduces improvements such as <a href="https://react.dev/blog/2022/03/29/react-v18" target="_blank" rel="noopener">automatic batching</a>, reducing re-renders in React.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">With the New Architecture, you&#8217;ll get automatic batching with the React 18 renderer.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">You can find a clear example <a href="https://reactnative.dev/docs/0.73/the-new-architecture/landing-page" target="_blank" rel="noopener">here</a> in automated batching!</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">New features in React&#8217;s new Architecture, such as <a href="https://react.dev/reference/react/useTransition" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Transitions</a>, enable you to express the priority of UI updates.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Labeling an update as lower priority tells React it can &#8220;interrupt&#8221; rendering the update to handle higher-priority updates, ensuring a responsive UX.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Let&#8217;s showcase how transitions can interrupt in-progress rendering to handle a newer state update.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Now wrap the tile number state update with&nbsp;<code>startTransition</code>&nbsp;to indicate that rendering the tiles can be interrupted.&nbsp;<code>startTransition</code>&nbsp;also provides a&nbsp;<code>isPending</code>&nbsp;flag to tell us when the transition is complete.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="fast-javascriptnative-interfacing">JavaScript/Native Interfacing<a href="https://reactnative.dev/docs/0.73/the-new-architecture/landing-page#fast-javascriptnative-interfacing" target="_blank" rel="noopener">​</a></h3>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">It presents JSI as an interface that enables JavaScript to hold a reference to a C++ object and vice versa. You can invoke methods directly without serialization overhead.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">JSI enables&nbsp;<a href="https://github.com/mrousavy/react-native-vision-camera" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">VisionCamera</a>, React Native good fellow, to process frames in real time. Typical frame buffers are 10 MB, which amounts to roughly 1 GB of data per second, depending on the frame rate. </p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">JSI adoption in the New Architecture removes this class of serialization work from all native-JavaScript interop. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">So we have 2 problems here.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>A) Camera problem:</strong>&nbsp;If we were to pause rendering on the primary view to switch to rendering on the secondary view, it would stop the ongoing recording process – a scenario we aim to avoid.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>B) Map problem:</strong> The user could drag the map to move around, but also drag the secondary view to move it anywhere. Hence, we needed to manage the same user gesture (drag) with different actions depending on whether the map was the primary or secondary view.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">And last, but not least&#8230; It&#8217;s new architecture!</p>

Additionally, we have to use the&nbsp;<code>&lt;Animated.View /&gt;</code>&nbsp;component to apply the ‘x’ and ‘y’ properties provided by&nbsp;<code>PanResponder</code>.</p>
